Scheveningen - The Lighthouse

The cast iron lighthouse of Scheveningen is an official monument of The Netherlands. It was built in 1875 and still functions as an official lighthouse, although since the advent of radar and decrease of portship of Scheveningen its greater purpose is to add to the tourist-characteristics of Scheveningen. The current lighthouse in Scheveningen was designed by Quirinus Harder. Light Height is 49 m, electrified since 05.12.1909, has 8 floors and 159 steps. Admission ticket are available at Muzee Scheveningen.
